La Boite a Epice
La Boite a Epice, or “The Spice Box,” is like a perfumer’s workshop. Owner and spice artist Lior Lev Sercarz combines top-quality spices from across the globe, each one a reflection of a place, a moment, a cultural influence. Like a master perfumer, Lior offers tantalizing hints about the contents of his spice mix bottles, but he never provides a full reveal. He’s worked with some of the world’s most famous chefs, most notably spice master Olivier Roellinger. There is even a blend named after Ana Sortun.
Curio Spice
Former Sofra Manager, Claire Cheney, founded Curio Spice in 2015. Claire has spent the past decade visiting farms and communities in more than 10 countries, sourcing the best spices to bring back to New England. Claire’s unique blends add beautiful aromas and depth of flavor to both food and drink. Curio Spice is a local, independent, woman-owned Public Benefit Corporation working to provide a better life for farmers, protect the environment, and help people unite around food. And, of course, make food tastier too.
Rumi Spice
Rumi Spice partners with Afghan farmers to bring top-quality, sustainably-farmed saffron to customers all over the world. Started by a team of U.S. military veterans committed to empowering Afghan women and bolstering the country’s economy, Rumi employs more than 1900 women in Herat, Afghanistan. Sofra carries Rumi’s premium Afghan saffron as well as their unique saffron gem, a sweet treat with beautiful saffron threads suspended throughout each gummy candy.
